Obituary of Carol Ann Wenberg

Carol Ann Wenberg, born April 9, 1942 passed away on April 3, 2021.  She was born in Hawaii, graduated from Hillsdale High School (San Mateo, CA) in 1960 and attended College of San Mateo.  Carol lived the majority of her life in the Bay Area, including San Mateo and Cupertino.  The past 9 years she was in a memory care facility in Los Gatos.  Carol was the oldest of three children.

She met her husband Gary in middle school, they began dating in high school, and married after graduating from high school in 1962.  They had an amazing partnership and marriage, and she was the love of his life and his “tiger.”  Carol helped Gary for many years with managing the office for his very successful State Farm Insurance business.

She was a loving and compassionate mother and grandmother, who showed her love for family in so many ways.  This was reflected in her unique abilities to host festive and memorable holidays and family gatherings.  She devoted many years to being a member of the Altar Guild for St. Jude’s Episcopal Church in Cupertino.  She was an avid traveler with Gary, joining him for work trips as well as taking enjoyment in planning personal vacations.  She had an incredible ability with capturing their travel adventures and memories in photo albums. Carol and Gary built a beautiful home in Angels Camp and took great pleasure in hosting family and friends there.  Her smile, laugh, kindness, and caring spirit will be missed by all of her family and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Ruth Richards, brother Donald Richards, daughter Laurie Heying, and granddaughter Megan Stahl.

Carol is survived by her husband of 58 years Gary, her children Cindy (John) Stahl and Christine (Kevin, late) Iams, her grandchildren Kimberly, Robin (Cameron Erion), Andrew, Corey and Zachary, and her sister Mary (Dave, late) Stearns.

Carol will be interred at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto, CA.
