I am so sad to hear about Mitch. We were very good friends in high school. My husband and I both attended Paly with Mitch and Mike. We have run into him walking near the Baylands recently and have taken our cars to him for repair. I purchased my first car from him, a '53 Chevy for $300. I was so sorry that I didn't have a place to park it so that I wouldn't have to sell it. It was such a cute car and huge inside. He did such a beautiful job of fixing it up. Big hugs to all of the family. xoxo Becky and Tony Brewer

I just found out about Mitch, checking out the 1975 Palo Alto High graduation site.
I am so sorry to learn of his passing.
At Paly I was a wrestling teammate and very good friend with
Mike Johnson his older brother.
Mitch was a kid to us LOL.
Although only 2 years younger!
Back in the 1980s, Mitch's shop was located just
off El Camino in Palo Alto,
A block north of the now located Palo Alto Medical Center.
In those days, I was an "outside salesman" in the construction industry.
Yearly I would drop by their shop in the spring or summer and just hang/chat
for an hour or so, around lunch time.
Mike and Mitch diligently kept working though!
I always thought when I retired, I would come
by and just "old man" hang out in the front sunny area of their store, and
living in the past with stories of old.
My most deep condolences to Mike, Judy, Mom, Dad, Dirk
and other Johnson Family.

Mitch,
You left us way to soon. I always enjoyed our conversations and the bond of automobiles that we shared.

Tony and I have such fond memories of Mitch. Rafting on the American River, fishing in Mexico on our trip to Cozumel, skiing in Tahoe. He will be missed. We extend our sympathy to his family.

Missing Mitch dearly and grieving for my family. So grateful to him and the brotherly love he gave my dad over the years. Growing up in his shop, accompanied by trusty dog Vern and the stench of adhesive and leather, the good times tubing on the lake, and more recently his gentle sincerity are fond memories I'll always enjoy.
