Marjorie Petersen, long-time Los Altos resident passed peacefully at the age of 95, surrounded by loved ones, February 24, 2020. She was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma March 6, 2020.
Marge was born and educated in San Francisco. A graduate of San Francisco State, she taught second grade and preschool. She was active in PTA, scouting, and was past president of the AAUW Los Altos-Mt View Chapter. She was a contributing editor to Accent Magazine and published many short stories. An avid Bridge player with the Palo Alto Bridge Club, Marge participated in many ACBL tournaments. She also participated in Women’s Health Initiative, a long-term health study.
A mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she cherished her family. Her sharp wit and killer smile endeared her to all she met. She is survived by her son, Bob Wagner (Misty) of Sonora, CA, and daughters Becky Scarl (Dan) of Salem Oregon, and Mary Krakow (John) of Redmond Oregon, also four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Marge found her calling as a child advocate and supporter of children’s charities. Her two favorites were Smile Train and S.O.S. Children’s Villages, should you choose to honor her with a gift.
