Obituary of Sudhakar "SK" Reddi

Sudhakar Koduri Reddi was born on June 15, 1957 in Hanamakonda, Telangana, India. From early childhood, Sudhakar’s personality shone through and made his presence known to all around him. He was best known for his honesty and straight-forward nature. He lived by the rule book and would always preach "Work Smarter, Not Harder". From an early age, Sudhakar inspired many people with his generosity, selflessness, and kind heart. He was an influential force at his University, advocating for social causes for the student population and a self-proclaimed“ freedom fighter” for the Telangana movement. Sudhakar later emigrated to the United States with his sister and brother-in-law. Although he didn't know anyone upon arrival to the USA, he quickly made many friends and was given his new life long nickname of "SK". Soon there after, in 1985, he earned a position with the United States Postal Service (USPS) and was a devoted employee for 30 years until his retirement in 2015. "SK" had a very successful tenure at the USPS. He was a force to be reckoned with, known for his discipline and forthrightness, while always expressing empathy and respect. He took care of his employees like his own family, and would often lavishly treat them to his wife's fabulous cooking (samosas, chicken curry, naan, and rice, to just name a few). Unfortunately in his early forties, he was first diagnosed with a late stage brain tumor. Throughout the last 19 years that he endured this terrible illness, he never lost hope, complained, or allowed himself to think negatively. He was always brave and very hopeful as he tried new procedures and clinical trials. He never let the cancer take control of his life and fought whole-heartedly every step of the way. He continued to fight until the very end, when he passed comfortably in his own home surrounded by his loved ones. "SK" is survived by his wife, daughter, son, along with a son-in-law, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter, who he loved dearly. "SK" will be deeply missed and his legacy will live on forever. We will miss you Dad! son | father | brother
